Atletico Madrid have joined the race for Bruno Fernandes of Sporting Lisbon, according to Sport.
Fernandes has been heavily linked with Manchester United recently, while the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have also been mentioned. However, it appears the 24-year-old is about to be offered a move to La Liga too, as Ateltico plan for a summer overhaul of the squad.
Though a Portuguese international with 13 caps and a solitary goal to his name for his country, Fernandes started his professional career in Italy, with Serie B side Novara back in 2012/13. He worked his way up through playing for Udinese and Sampdoria, before returning to Portugal to join Sporting in 2017 on a five-year deal. His performances have obviously caught the eyes of a number of top European sides since then.
Sporting reportedly value the midfielder at €60 million, and Atletico feel they need his services at the moment, with the likes of Diego Godin, Juanfran and Lucas Hernandez all gone and the futures of Antoine Griezmann, Jan Oblak and Rodri with the club also in doubt.
